Blog #2  By Jan Pino    Paying It Forward  In our recent class presentation, we explored the idea of "Paying It Forward" and how it connects to important aspects of interpersonal communication from our textbook. Our group (Group 1) covered chapters 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8, discussing the basics of good communication, understanding oneself and others, active listening, and building strong connections. We highlighted how these concepts support the philosophy of "Paying It Forward." Although we were satisfied with our presentation, we acknowledge the continuous room for improvement in our communication skills. We also had the opportunity to learn from presentations by two other groups on equally important topics.    Communication Perception - Chapter 1  In Chapter 1, "Communication Perception," we delved into how people perceive and interpret communications from others. We highlighted the significance of understanding different perspectives and communication st...

Blog 1  By Jan Pino  Dynamics of Communication  In my recent participation in a sequence of group presentations within my communication class, I embarked on an intriguing exploration of various facets encompassing communication, group dynamics, and leadership. Each presentation offered distinctive perspectives, leaving an enduring impression on my comprehension of these pivotal subjects. As I contemplate these presentations, my aim is to further investigate their significance and the substantial influence they have exerted on both my personal and academic growth in the domains of communication and learning.    Intercultural Communication - Chapter 3  From the beginning, this presentation caught my interest and made me curious.   Three keys to changing our inner and outer world: self-care, healthy eating, and actively helping others. During the past two weeks, our class had its second round of presentations. Having already gone through the first round, we were more prepared and better understood how to organize ourselves. We knew what to expect and were eager to participate in this stimulating activity. My group was the last to present, so I had the opportunity to learn and enjoy my classmates' presentations for two classes before presenting myself. I can confidently say that the first two groups did an outstanding job. They demonstrated excellent research skills, synthesis, and presentation of information. The first presentation was about self-care. The group was confident in their delivery and had chosen their slides carefully. They began by defining self-care and explaining its importance for our well-being. They then discussed the pillars of self-care, which included hygiene, rest, exercise, and stres...

Blog 2 by Ashley Rodes "Exploring the world of communication on the path to self-care and personal growth´´ A week ago, I again had the opportunity to witness in my communications class a series of presentations, which as a student were complete learning in the field of self-improvement. The presentations promised to shed light on essential aspects of self-love, well-being, and the influence of media and movies on our lives. Although, I couldn't help but feel excited to delve into these topics. Our class was divided into groups, and each group had the opportunity to present on various topics related to happiness, self-care, and personal development. A wide range of topics were covered, from the basic principles of self-care to the influence of movies on our lives. Below, I want to share my reflection on each presentation and how they have shaped my perspective. Group Two: The Fundamentals of Self-Care The presentation of the second group focused on the fundamental conc...
